Farm equipment and mechanization; farm machinery and power units; tillage and traction; repair and maintenance; engines, tractors and power tillers; tractor stability; field capacity; cost analysis; safety and ergonomics; solar, wind and bio-energy; biogas; gasifiers; biofuels; biomass; solar cookers and refrigerators.
UNIT-VI
Properties of biological materials; quality control; drying, milling, separation and storage; material handling; farmstead planning; heating and cooling; seed processing; food preservation; refrigeration; cold storage; waste management; cost analysis and food processing plant layout.
UNIT-VII
Surveying and leveling; hydrology; water resources; irrigation systems; soil-plant-water relationship; evaporation and crop water requirements; water harvesting; farm ponds; reservoirs; command area development; groundwater; wells and pumps; soil erosion; land shaping; hydraulic structures; drainage; salt balance and reclamation.
