Sub-Subject: Agri-Business Management.
UNIT-I
Social, political and economic structure in rural India; importance of agriculture, forestry, horticulture and livestock; major crops and their importance; soils and plant nutrients; crop, vegetable and fruit pests and diseases; forestry production and management; watershed management; agricultural research, education and extension; statistics.
UNIT-II
Farm equipment and machinery; farm energy and power; irrigation and drainage; basics of post-harvest technology and agricultural energy.
UNIT-III
Basics of veterinary science, gynecology, veterinary microbiology, pathology, parasitology, surgery, public health, pharmacology and toxicology.
UNIT-IV
Basics of human food and nutrition; human and child development; home and family resource management; clothing and textiles.
UNIT-V
Quantitative ability: mathematical calculations based on analytical skills and understanding of intermediate-level mathematics.
UNIT-VI
Communicative ability: English comprehension and language skills for effective communication of thoughts and ideas.
UNIT-VII
Data interpretation: interpretation of facts and figures presented through graphs, tables and charts.
UNIT-VIII
Logical reasoning: evaluation of logical thinking capacity.
UNIT-IX
Managerial economics; market structure, conduct and performance; agricultural marketing; trade; corporations; cooperatives; agribusiness institutions; entrepreneurship development.
Additional note: Other topics of scientific, social and educational importance may also be included. Approximately 20–25% questions are related to agriculture and agriculture-related science subjects including recent developments.
